Gent a couple towns up from me has 3 MG's for sale. MGA roadster, MGA coupe and a MGBGT. They sound mostly like project cars at pretty reasonable prices. I'm must interested in the A roadster. It's ALL apart with some restoration done and some new parts. I won't have pics but I am going to see them Sun PM. What significant problems would make a deal breaker? Haven't been in an MGA almost 50 years. The Austin Healey at the bottom of this post has gone to a new home so I am in need of another project. Thanks, Bob

Bob, Rust in the body seams where the fenders bolt on is a bad spot. You need to pay attention when doing sills and rocker panels but to me they are easy compared to fender seams. Getting that area so the fender piping goes in straight is hard when you start welding there. Most chassis rails need work where the floors bolt down. Thats ok and repair parts are available. Watch for rust at the bottom of the frame rails. That is also a area thats tough to make look correct. I would be happy to look at it for you. I have done alot of MGA's and can advise on the condition. Lynda and i and another couple will be in western Mass. next week. We are staying in the "South Lee" area. We should be there a week from this monday. If you see 2 Pull handle MGBs in the area thats us! One Iris blue and one in old english white. I will be in the blue one. Bob. Cell 704-907-0986

Just a thumb nail recap. I have NO interest in these cars, only want to make the info available to any interested parties. #1 MGA conv around $1K decent frame but tons on rust. MGA coupe approx $600 worse than the roadster, rust wise. Both MGA's are one step away from the crusher or would need a VERY extreme restoration. The MGBGT $1500? decent body ,lousy paint, needs minor elec work, and interior. Was running a couple years ago. Many many extra and duplicate parts. Located in Adams Ma near NY / Vt border. Bob
