I am installing a megajolt system on my spit, any thoughts?
I am running 11:1 comp. quad kehin carbs, stage 2 engine and cam. headers . Mr.T <span style="font-weight: bold"> </span>

It will give you much more control of how your engine runs, but unless you are willing to spend some time with a steep learning curve it will be tough. I have a Megasquirt on my TR4A. We did the EFI conversion about a year ago and I just now have it to where it is driving well. My brother did the timing. He has experience with Megaquirts. Let us know how it works out.

I would say go for it, I've not looked back since fitting Megajolt to my GT6, it's so much easier than Megasquirt to setup.

Best to start with a basic map and then tune it to suit your engine. There are a number of useful maps here and more information of a install on a Spitfire here
 
Check out the North American Spitfire Squadron and well as a recent issue of Spitfire & GT6 magazine. The guy who wrote the article in the magazine is a NASS member in MD.

What accounts for the Megajolt being easier to dial-in than a Megasquirt. Not disagreeing with you, just curious as to why.

Megajolt, due to being only a ignition system, has many fewer variables, ignition advance with respect to RPM and manifold vacuum or throttle position.

Megasquirt is a combined ignition and electronic fuel injection (EFI) system, so in addition to the ignition variables, you have a similar map for the fuelling, which is again varied to a certain extent by the engine conditions, coolant temperature, air mass etc.

I'm quite sure I know which one I would rather setup :smile:
