I've come to the realization that being a single dad, home owner, makes it tough to restore a car. I've been trying to buy a driver with the little funds that I have, and I can't find anything worth owning. So the BE may have to go find a new home so I can get something to drive kiddo to school in when its raining.
The car's shell is pretty rough, and I have a clean, cancer free shell to replace it with. Mechanically the only thing left to go through is the front suspension. I had the tranny rebuilt (ribcase), new wiring, restored the gauges and seats, Panasport style wheels with new tires, new brakes with disc conversion. Far more than that done, but those are the biggies. The car would be great for someone who wants to do what I do, and that is paint the other body and swap parts.
The car is a fine driver as-is, as I drive it all over town.
$6000 for everything.
