Seats are from a 1976 MGB parts car we bought. I ordered all new foam, webbing, and covers through Ron Mcleod (McLeod's British cars), a local LBC mechanic and parts supplier.

Basically it was simple in theory and a true pain in reality. I took apart the old seats and carefully noted how they were put together. Removed clips, covers, padding. I cleaned and sprayed the frames and then reassembled. The first one took about three hours to put together and ALOT of choice words. (Particularly when I realized I had put the passenger seat on the driver frame :wall:) The second one only took about an hour and half.
Total cost for covers, foam, webbing and seats-$500
Time- 6 hours

Not bad! considering I paid twice that to have my son's seats recovered by a pro!

Now...on to the dash and interior panels!

I have a PDF file of seat and interior replacement of the MGB from an old Vicky Brit publication (courtesy of Bob Munch)

Contact me if you would like to have this sent to you via e-mail as an attached file.

Rick, I've got that file from you and saved it. Seeing if there was anything that can be added. I should be tackling this soon now that my rearend swap is done.

I wish I had found new clips instead of re-using the old ones. I spent WAY too much time straightening out the used clips. Also, if there are any tools that would facilitate this I would find them. I used Needle Nose pliers and a flathead screwdriver...it can be done but we all know the right tools certainly would have made the job easier.
