long-distance Lucascism

Dave is on the ground in Puerto Rico taking his swing at Crypty.
I felt that I needed to take the oppertunity I had being at Watkins Glen today to use the extra positive automotive energy to channel the evil Lucas gremlins out of Crypty, giving Dave his best odds.
So today in the Garage at Watkins Nial (Aeronca65t) and I performed the long-distance Lucascism.
The energy was peaked in the garage area, we chose a canidate race car that was known to have done well today, and set up next to it, facing south (twards PR) I then offered a piece of wire and an igniton coil to Joseph Lucas along with having a vintage volt-ohm meter, and a trapped Lucas gremlin along with a pair of whitworth wrenches, a TR4A wiring harness, a Triumph badge, a compass and a shop rag
We then chanted
Ohmmmmmmss lawwww, Ohmmmmmmmss lawwww, Ohmmmmmmmss Lawww
Followed by
Extincto Cryptus, emergus Amos. extento useful milagamo, minimus interruptious!
There should be a fighting chance now! go get 'em Dave and Dale!

No we diden't... They were added later at Seneca Lodge. (well it was Bass, but that counts too)
That was a critical part of the operation. A race weekend at Watkins is NOT complete without a visit to the Lodge. (Read B.S. Levys' "The Last Open Road" for details).
As for you guys with the "dead roosters" and such. I know, I know.. But remember, this was a "long distance Lucascism" Dead rooserts and the ring of sea salt are for local calls. We had to use somthing more powerful. It was pure luck that it was a race weekend right when we needed it.
The energy from all the activity and history of the track is what gets the effects from here to PR. And I could forgo the pea soup that day, as we had some passing showers that filled the requirment.

are functiioning well.

But sadly, you forgot Jeff's dizzy.

David checked everything with his electric gizzmo
and all looks good.

Ignition breaks down under load- David pretty sure the
dizzy is the culprit.

I am taking David and his womenfolk to caves now.

Whoo!! it's warm here. My boots are getting wet inside from something Dale calls sweat, but being from the north, I don't know what that is.

Thanks for the lucasism, sure did help, as Amos is working fairly well.
One concern, seems to be a breakdown of ignition as soon as it reaches temperature. This dizzy has been redone, I'm just wondering if the electrical is going away with warmth?
I'm thinking of changing it over to points, as Dale has all the necessary pieces.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Dave. I hear ya on that "sweat" thing. We experienced a lot of that down there. Of course today it's in the upper 70s and perfectly clear. I took the top off the Jeep and we're goin "Leaf-peepin" after lunch. (pictures forthcoming)
Trading to points sounds like a good plan. Definatly worth a try. Especially if ya got all the parts there.
Dale, the Lucascism should have covered the whole car in general. But sometin=mes it acts slowly. It should have started with the coil as that's the component we focused in on,but all should improve soon.

We were just in the garages. That car is run by a father son team from Ohio. And I have to say the boy shows talent. He led the race he was in just prior to out little display. I'm sure no gremlins were transferred. the FC car was all buttoned up, and we were very cautious with the captured gremlin we had, I stunned him with a 9V battery before we took the lid of his cage.

yup. Needs new batteries for the "ohms" function though.
I never use it because I'm too used to my DVOM, (and you don't use low impedence meters on modern circuits) but it's perfect for this application.

Cap not a problem; wires, rotors, points, consensers-
I have plenty.

I pondered if these cars need to carry spare dizzys.
I almost bought a spare dizzy. I see now, indeed,
I should have bought a 2nd distributor.

These Triumphs appear to require at least one spare of
every part of the ignition/fuel system.
