TR4/4A Linkage?Swapping SU's on to a 4A

If I put SU's on a 4A in place of the Strombergs what linkage issues would I run into?Would I be able to use most of the linkage from a TR3 but require some from the TR4?

You'll need to source the 4A SU linkage too and keep in mind the the SU's on a TR3 are H6 and the 4A HS6. Never known anyone who installed H6's on a 4A, that may involve just using the entire linkage set up for a TR3. The HS6 TR4A set up tends to be a better choice simply from a potential gas leakage / sealing perspective.

If you look at the length (or is it depth?) of the respective intake manifolds you'll see where the 'S' comes into play.

Any particular reason why for this swap? I like SUs, but I like Strombergs too.

That's right and I forgot to mention it. The HS6 is a shorter body than the H6. The 4A has a longer intake manifold to go with the shorter body of the Carb. Using an HS6 on a TR3 3A intake manifold would reduce the over all length of the intake manifold resulting in some performance loss. How much would be a guess.

The HS6 carbs also turn the opposite direction from the H6. The TR3 linkage (for H6) mounts to a tab on the intake manifold that may be missing or untapped on the later cars.

The H6 carbs would also be a step backwards IMO from either the ZS or HS6.
