No "easy way" if it's been there long. Soak it repeatedly with PBBlaster over a couple days before you go further. It's one of the nastiest bolts to remove if it has never been pulled and treated with anti-seize. And it's a fifty-fifty bet you'll need new ones, so I'd say get 'em ahead of time (or if you have the kingpin "kit" they're in there). BFH is the appropriate tool, too, BTW... Some have required the "heat wrench" as the tool of last resort.

Nope. Hacksaw or Sawzall.

Doc's right on point with this one...& you don't want to damage the trunnion...new ones are astronomical, used ones only indecent!

Yeah, I know. Tried the BFH and the Oxy/Acet wrench. Still wouldn't budge. I had a spare set of trunnions about, so I sawed through the bolt on the gaps between the trunnion and the shock arm. It was coming apart one way or another.

Antisieze paste is your friend, or don't you use that either /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

edit: in fact, I couldn't even get the trunnions off the top of the kinpins; even using a vice to try and press the bolt stub out. I think the kingpin dimple rusted fast to the bolt. I think I threw the whole mess in the bin.

Antiseize is my friend...Permatex is not! I removed 4 heads this week - every one of them had the thermostat housing glued on with Permatex! People must think they're working on Chevy's!
