just got off the phone with my sister-in-law in so. wisconsin. seems she needs a place to store her '65(IIRC) wire-wheeled B untill she gets a garage built next year. she opened the phone call asking me if i wanted to buy it!! i don't know about buying it, we didn't discuss price at all, yet, but the deal went down as i would store it and use it as mine while i have it with the open offer to purchase,....(appearantly her hubby says," sell the stinkin' thing, it just sits there taking up space").
i don't know it's condition exactly but i do know i drove it about '90. it ran like top, but the brakes are typicaly soft....(imagine that) the synchros were just a bit lazy into 2cd. gear, and the interior was getting that "used-up" look. i also know she hasn't put squat for mileage on it since then, and it has been stored inside at all times, so it will get a good look-see and a trailer ride up here. it was rebuilt and refurbished by dick leauning(MG-LTD)in milwaukee back about '79 give or take. i'm pretty sure i remember him doing this car (i probably ground the crank for it...i ran the crank-grinder at a near-by machine-shop back then and did several for him). as i lived only a couple blocks away from him and i had my '61A and a '72midget back then, i was there at his shop all the time. if memory serves me, he put a fresh 5 main in it, new clutch, brakes, rebuilt the shocks, new u-joints, axel seals... all that kind of stuff, new top and baby blue( forget the real name... is it iris ?)original color paint on necessary body work. last i saw it, the body was still solid and the bumpers were still in good shape.
i'll keep you all posted...
