Bugsy's high idle has been determined to be caused by an air leak/cracked intake manifold/ leaking gasket on the rear carb of my 1098. Leak is at the intake manifold / engine block joint. Not sure at this point if cracked intake manifold or just a bum gasket. Engine will not idle below 1500 rpm. Plan is to swap intake manifold off of my spare 1275 and reinstall 1098 carbs on new manifold.
I got a new intake manifold gasket from local LBC Shop. Does the gasket go on dry, gasket sealer(brown shellac type stuff), RTV or what is the recommended sealer for this area.
Also any recommended torque specs for the aluminum manifold.
Old bolts on spare engine and on Bugsy have been PB Blasted in advance of this work.
Any other gotchas I need to worry about other than worrying about cracking / breaking studs on exhaust / intake manifold.
