Insurance Pictures...Thanks Paul

We've all been watching Brosky's TR6 come back together after his accident with perfect panel fits and beautiful paint. Early on in his insurance discussions with Haggerty he mentioned how all of the pictures he had of the car made the negotiation very easy. And he strongly suggested that we all take lots of pictures to support any future claims. That got me to thinking how I've got hundreds of pictures on my web site but none that really show things like panel fit and alignment. So today I took about 40 pictures that just show door, hood, trunk alignment and fit....... along with wheel arches, low shots of the front and rear, lots of engine bay showing cleanliness and paint all the way down in the corners, seam where fenders bolts on, seats, dash, etc. I took them all in a 1600 x 1200 pixel size so they are big clear pictures. I stored them in a folder on my back up drive and I'll burn them to a CD. I may even add them to my site as my hosting company backs up the site on a regular basis.

Thanks for the suggestion Paul........I hope I never have to use them but if I do, I've got my ammunition!

I hope that no one here ever has to use them either.

But it's better to take them now than to wish you had later.

Slightly off topic, but having photos of ALL of your valuable possessions (i.e., art, antiques, collections, furniture, textiles, porcelain, etc., etc.) can be of immeasurable value in case of a loss.

With that kind of documentation, the insurance company claim adjuster's job is much easier.

Of course, it's also a good idea to store such photos in a separate location, maybe on another computer or a removable disc somewhere.

If you have a loss, it's impossible to give the adjuster "too much" information about the items in question.

Thanks for posting.
