I know this is a previous topic but can anyone tell me what the insides of original BJ8 front seats (foams) look like?
I wonder if mine are original:
Bottom: Large flat foam with a white fluff open weave batting covering the top. Under the large top flat piece is several smaller pieces glued to conform to the shape of the metal seat pan.
I'm thinking this was not original.
Seat Back:
1/2 inch thick foam strips glued around the perimeter of the seat back, leaving the center area basically open. This is then covered with the large seat shaped molded foam
with the under side in a waffle pattern (holes). This, in effect made the perimeter somewhat built-up and the center
area depressed and softer.
I'm thinking this may be original.
Sorry for the length...but I want to re-create the seats as original and the replacement kit for the back has just one layer of foam with no waffles and no provision for much of a depression in the middle.
