I got a new project in the shop this week

There is local fellow, who has a Triumph GT6 vintage car project well under way, and he brought the engine to me this week. he is just getting starting in vintage racing, and has never raced before. The plan is to used all really good components for relaiblity, like Carrillo Rods, JE pistons, and such, it will probably be no more than 12.0 to 1 on compression ratio, This should be a bit different than what I'm used to building for race engines. I keep thinking about all those ports in that head I've got to do I will try to document the build here as I get to going with it.

Thought you didn't do those motors Hap

I have an acquaintance in my club that vintage raced a GT6, he sold it a couple years ago, as I recall he said he tried to take advantage of the shorter stroke of the GT6 motor (vs. the TR6) and set it up to spin a little faster to make more power, but you have probably already figured that out. But anyway I think he was pretty happy with the power they were able to get out of the motor.

Don, I would not normally take this sort of project on, but this guy is local and quickly becoming a friend, he has flexible work hours, and is willing to come by the shop and do the dirty/grunt work, to help me, so we're going to give a go.
