I am my own WORST enemy!

Don't know if anyone here has been privy to this themselves, BUT,
In my previous posting SCORE!

As I was eliminating all the rodent damage and repairing wiring throughout the car, I came across a wire that was chewed threw and bare underneath the dash, as I was pulling out the interior. SO I in my inteligent demeaner, decided to cut the wire so that I could replace it later, then went back to working on the interior. Now as I am primarily finished with the interior, went back to replacing wiring.
AND for the life of me, cannot remember where this strange wire went to.
I have combed over schematics, trace and traced, but cannot find where the wire attached to and the car won't run (ran before I did this to myself)

Everything works throughout the car, but when you turn the key, it does not engage the starter motor.

The car is now at Candi's Auto electric, Fix it, I'll pay. THUS I am my own worst enemy,

We feel your pain.

I might add that's it's a REALLY good idea to disconnect the battery when fiddling with the electrics.

I say this from experience (mostly bad).

Lesson here is *never* rely on remembering details of a partially finished project. I certainly can't! "Complete, then move on" is all I could ever handle. That and lots of notes.

Is there any of the wire cover left? If so, what color?

It was a white wire, 12 gauge.

I did notice that the previous owner did
have some wiring tricks done to the car when they were
driving it.

A mesh Mosh of wiring for the stereo, a cut off toggle switch
and a few other things.

I don't think there is any 12 gauge wiring on the car other than the brown wires. Sounds like aftermarket to me.

Getting back to the comment about disconnecting the battery, they make a cheap cut off switch, mine has a green turny knob on it and is brass colored, for a few bucks, I have put them on all last few cars I have had, makes disconnecting the power so easy..then of course you go to start it and half the time I have forgotten to screw it back to on, but easily fixed.

White is usually iginition isn't it?, if the car and tach still run don't kno where it is supposed to go. Maybe a DPO mod. If you cut it isn't aren't there two ends now?

The car is at the Electricains now. Not in front of me to look at.

I have since pulled the engine out of my Red 74 to do a swap, but first , pulling the engine compart ment apart so that is can be painted in a semigloss black.

I intsall wingnut battery connectors on all my battery's and make all my own cables so that it is easy to remove the positive cable in order to work on the electrical.

This I apply to all my cars, british or not.
