We'll be replacing the goodly portion of the beading on Penny -- Moss sells it in a 66" length. Is that enough, or do I need two of those?

Drew,
complete replacement should require 4 pc so you can have a 'full run'. I need to find about 10" of beading for under my tail lights.

So to be clear, four of those 66" pieces that Moss sells would be what's needed if all of it needs to be replaced?

Drew,
Bonnet needs 2 54" pieces, plus 2 10" pieces under the lights. The rear needs 2 38" pieces plus the short pieces between the tail lights and along the lower rear. Rut

Thanks, Rut, that's what I needed.

Off to spend some money...

Drew I've got two pieces still in shipping tube I will not be using.

Going to be using a different bonnet and the next owner of Bugsy is bonnet can wory about that.

Jim,
got any short pieces, say 10" or so?

I think I'll have enough now, Jim, but thanks. I ordered 4 pieces and I don't think all of it has to be replaced, should be covered.

No short pieces Rut just 2 new 66" pieces.

Jim, PM sent. Plans have changed and I'm interested in those pieces if you still have them.

Drew, that's a bear of a job to do right. I think I would avoid doing anything that you can get by with. How is the body shop going to do it?

Don't know how the shop is going to handle it, we'll have some discussions when I get the beading in. Needs to be done at least partly no matter what, the existing beading is pretty hammered in quite a few places.

I had pretty good success with an angle grinder and a thin cutting blade. Dremel tool did not have enough mass to keep things steady. Just slow and sure after the top
is ground off and you will get a channel out. Goggle replace Fender Beading and you'll find sone How To articles. Likely I would have ended up gluing on with seam sealer or just plain old JB Weld.

A good option which I did was lead filling and shaping. After that the whole car was sprayed in epoxy. Then for the small pin holes body filler was used. Evercoat Slick Sand was applied which makes a great surface to blend everything, and then build primer. Really makes a nice base to lay paint to after sand blasting.

Bugeye Porn wow. If it looks this gorgeous on my I phobe

Yeah, Alan don't play fair! That picture makes me want to rethink everything I'm doing to my Bugeye.

Stopped by the shop today and they have started removing the old beading. They're grinding off the bad bits and cleaning things up as best as possible without pulling the panels apart. The work looks really clean, I'm pleased.
