How I got here from Ontario

I've been in construction all my life never really liked working on cars but always liked little sports cars. I had a Fiat 124 sports coupe back in the early seventies and use to race with TR6s every time I saw one on the road. Fast forward to 2013, I was installing a kitchen for a client she had a vehicle on the driveway with a tarp on it. Not sure why or how I got to asking her whats under the tarp but turns out it was a 1975 Triumph TR6 with overdrive in incredibly good shape for an Ontario triumph. She said she had enough fun with it, that it was time to move on and if I was interested we could do some horse trading with part of the balance she owed me. I told her I would let her know in the morning. On my way home I got this good old back in the 70's feeling and that little TR6 was all I could think about all night. So next day I owned a TR6, I was hooked. I drove it for 2 months till November, what a blast. I have a nice big heated shop at home for woodworking so I stole a part of it and made a little TR area, started cleaning engine bay and repairing this and that on the TR6 and I was loving it. Next thing you know (I'm sure a lot of you have been there) I took it completely apart just had to make it my own. This new winter hobby of mine came out of no where. Trick is to put no time limit on it and work on it when you feel like it. 5 years later it was complete. TR6 has been my daily driver now for 3 summers. I've been searching for a half decent TR3 project car for some time. One came up on TRF classified and purchased it past June. This forum has helped in the past so here I am a silver member now (what ever that means lol) with a new old car. I was searching for TR3 metal body repairs and meg welding someone had posted with photos on a TR2 showing step by step complete project. Priceless info but I can't seem to find it. All I have is Yoda and the chats were back in 2015, if someone can help find this I would really appreciate it. I think this is enough for today before I scare everybody off. Cheers

welcome! one of your closer neighbours here - can't help with the steps but, as you already seem to know, this is the place to be.

glad you are here

Hello and welcome to the forum.

The Triumph section is a gold mine of tips and advice.
I think the thread you are looking for id by CJD TR2. I used his thread as I went through my rebuild.

If I can find a link I will post i. Try the search function.

A link to CJD's TR2 bodywork.

His attention to detail is amazing and his generosity with help and information is what got plenty of us through our restoration.
