I'm going to look at a '70 Norton 750 Commando
tomorrow.
I've been thinking it over for a few days, before even
going to look at it.
It's a Norton,it's Black - Stop Me!

GO, DOUG, GO!!!

Just remember: REAL men kick start their bikes! But, Norton's kick back!

The ad in the local paper said '70 Norton Commando -
-$3500.
I went and looked at it today. It's Black!I've got a weekness for bikes that were originaly Black,w/gold lettering.
Anyway, could'nt get it to start.I think that the plugs
might be fouled.Might try pulling the plugs tomorrow,&
try again.
When I brought back the camera & had my Wife download
the pictures,I had "The Smile" on my face.Somehow,I don't
think that I'm going to be able to run this one thru.
I'm also thinking thatmaybe I should just put some money (when I can)into restoring the '78 Bonneville instead.
Tony, sorry I jumped the gun on this one. However,if it was an 850 Commando,in Black,I'd probably be sleeping on the couch by now.
If anybody's interested,I have pictures that I can PM
of the Norton.

Sometimes they leak oil into the dry sump & you can't get them to start no matter how long you kick...if it were an 850, I'd be after it!

Doug, you should know better than to ask any of us to stop you from buying cool old stuff, though it sounds like you've stopped yourself on this one.

If I ever sell the Bugeye, I'll probably wind up with a garage full of old British bikes in it's place...

Does this mean that I'm finally growing up -
- or just getting smarter in my old age?
I guess that I should be thankful that my Wife
isn't a car person,otherwise we'd be living in a
double-wide with a 15 car garage.

Would that be a bad thing? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Think of it as the wisdom of age, or something. Maybe you've just become slightly more selective in how you want to throw away money.
