I haven't seen an update for a while.
Don't tell me that it's because you are out driving it...

The man is busy tormenting fish all along the island's waterways. Dale baits them, catches them, throws them back, then repeats the process over and over again.

Sort of just what Crypty does to him. Goes out for a few miles, breaks down, gets him back home. Dale fixes it up, back out again, same cycle, over and over again.

Why do I have a feeling that this is not going to be good news from our intrepid fisherman in sunny Puerto Rico?

Alan-

Too depressed to author any text or post any photos.

Everything between the Crypt Car's cylinder head and
the Gulf station high test pump has now been replaced.
Complete and total failure of brand new system.

It appears this sorry TR6 beast so far gone; even experts
like Jeff Palya and the pros at The Speed Shop all combined
cannot get Crypty's fuel delivery system functional.

Still on blocks, still dead a squashed bug, still a time
bomb waiting to explode. I'm out of ideas and I'm out of
cash. There's nothing left to buy or replace. I'll post
some photos and details of the latest nightmare when I'm
not so down in the dumps.

Dale,

It is pouring out because there is crap in between the needle valve and it's seat. Cleaning that out will fix your problem.

Neither Jeff Palya nor even Carroll Shelby could do anything about what was in your fuel tank that blocked up a fuel pump and got inside the carbs. Putting filters on after the fact will not clean out the dirt inside the carb(s), especially a tiny grain of sand that could cause major flooding by keeping the needle off of it's seat.

Go fishing for a couple of days to clear your head and you can come back and pop that carb off in a half an hour and turn it upside down and fix the problem.

This IS NOT beyond your ability, by any means.

I've sent you the photo how to's and all you need is a clear head and in two hours you'll be buzzing up and down the streets of your neighborhood.

"custom crafted" ... are you sure you haven't gotten the fuel system pressure too high ?
Flooding carbs is a common complaint when people go "upgrading" their fuel systems.

Hi Tinster;

I was passing thru and had to read this:

Man; I would`nt give up but heck, after all the time, effort, anxiety of completion, Big Dollars & all the [censored] failures; "Really, I`m not kidding"; Why not have the [censored] thing shipped to the US to some recommended Brit Mechanic and finally get it done!!!!!!!!!

What can I say except "Good Luck"!!

wot Paul says. I had the same problem with my motorcycle. Silt from the tank had worked it's way onto the fuel jet seats causing fuel to leak back into the airbox. It is an easy job to clean them out. Leave the fish alone for awhile and get cleaning!

I also agree with Paul...just get a simple carb kit and clean it up. Stroms are easy, take it apart on the kitchen table, you'll enjoy it. You will find the problem. The Crypt will submit.

Ken- No reason for carb kit. Brand new carbs. Take em apart and clean em.

This is a major set back and could easily spell
the end for the Crypt Car.

Rebuilding carbs that were professional rebuilt after
only 250 miles is not tolerable. Purchasing a set of new
carbs is out of the question.

Discussions are being held about parting the car out and selling the pieces on E-Bay.

It appears Crypty was and is a parts car too far gone to
be restored.

Dale no real set back, and you don't need to rebuild those carbs.
Didn't you take them apart a few weeks ago? when the gas problem started? there is a bit of crud which is stuck in the little gas valve on the bottom part of the carb. take off the bottom of the carb and clean the inlet valve again, and then put it all back together.

Part of the problem is that to many people are giving you advice, without knowing the history.... you DO NOT NEED TO REBUILD THESE CARBS JUST CLEAN OUT THE BIT OF CRUD.

Now unhook the gas line to the carb, and let it pump a few times to make sure that the NEW gas going to the carb is clean. Then clean out the intake valve on the carb, (part #54 in the attached picture) (in the bottom part of the carb, it is opened and closed by those floats (#52). Make sure that the intake valve it opening and closing smoothly and that the float goes up and down smoothly. Then put it all back together. Use the same gaskets, don't glue anything. Changes are a bit of the permetex which dissolved is in that valve holding it open right now.
