Vroooooommmm....

Yes, she is on the road. A bit prematurely, but she has good power and great oil pressure and a set of NOS side curtains with clear plexi and great rubber seals!!

We had a little test drive, took a pretty good hill no problem.

My combo oil / temp gauge is working great, looks like about 50 lbs oil pressure and the temp got up to 170.

Woo Hoo!!! :driving:

Good Job. Don't forget to double check the brakes and steering before pressing the car back into service.

OMG - that was exhilarating!!

It hasn't rained in our area for 30 days, and so you have one guess about what morning it should choose to break the pattern and rain?
Yes, the morning I decide I'm driving the Sprite to work.

In retrospect, I should have spent a little more time and hooked up the windshield wipers.

The local gas & go had a bottle of rainx - I guess I let my last one go with the blue MGBGT I sold.

So, another observation...

Side Curtain Windows?? Who needs wing windows with these babies??
Is there some secret to keeping them from trying to fly out at the front?
Put them on before the top maybe?

The car ran fine, good oil pressure temp right at 170 all the way.
Pretty good power considering it's a 948cc motor!! I guess I was cruising about 60mph all the way in. We will see what it does on the return trip this afternoon, that's the uphill journey.

Yes, the car has gone through a baptism. Literally and figuratively. Hopefully not too much water made it's way inside!!

Man - I don't even need coffee this morning - that was a heck of a ride!

Congrats,

Not much can be done with side curtians, if you stick em in the top, then you can't open the door.

On long trips it is worth doing once you get in, if you can.

I'm thinking on long trips you need to plan for sunny weather and just put them in the boot...!!!

I'll have to see if I can come up with a way to help them stay inside a bit more.
Also my top doesn't reach the standard tenax fasteners on the body so I need to righ something up to keep that from blowing out. I suppose I could drill holes and install more male tenax fasteners, but that seems a bit screwy.

Definitively an alive drive!!

definately an alive drive. when you're looking at the center hub of the wheel as the hay truck drives up beside you makes ya feel really small too.
