When cleaning textured interior plastics, vinyl and leather seats, and vinyl tops - try using a moistened Mr.Clean Magic Eraser. On tough stains a spritz of vinyl cleaner (try it in a hidden area first) on the eraser works wonders, and the same with a good leather cleaner on the eraser with leather seats.

I'm considering *GASP* white interior on Binabox with Iris blue exterior. HOW awful is it keeping white interior (leather most likely) clean and looking like new?

It is horrible to keep clean and it shows everything! Go down one dusty road and you will be spending lots of time cleaning! IMHO /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The worst thing about light colored interiors is that everything leaves marks...I have had light gray and light tan interiors, and my wife's purse, leather coat, my briefcase, my bluejeans all left noticeable discoloration.

And a white convertible top stays clean for about a day before becoming permanently discolored.
 
I figured dust was a given and I was concerned about that with jeans more than anything.

Thanks for the heads up on that you guys. I'm a low maintenance sort of person and I'd rather spend my time waxing the car than taking a toothbrush over the interior! Scratch that idea! I'll just admire yours!
 
The interior of my TR6 is white - thanks to the PO. It's never been clean from day one. Even when I clean it it doesn't look clean for more than 10 minutes, so I'd say don't do it! I want to switch to tan.

It IS nice in the summer though. You can get back in and not get 3rd degree burns like you would if it were black.

I had a cherry red Bugeye, with a white interior, when I lived in Tucson. Not a good choice at all. Looked good for the first couple of days, and it didn't take long before I went back to basic black. (No pearls. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif)

Iris blue can come off kind of cheap and washed out looking unless you do a really nice job on the prep and paint work. If you do it, it looks really good with a dark blue top and tonneau, dark blue seats, and light blue piping.

And I agree with Tony. White interiors, especially in an MGB = FUGLY.

Not bad, but you will find that all kinds of black dirt will appear out of thin air. Literally. The magic-eraser idea works great though and takes no time to clean up at all. Heavy marks from shoes, etc, can be difficult to remove so be careful.

By the way, my Miata has a light tan leather interior and it's just as bad to keep clean as white.

Gee thanks. I like mine. I haven't had any problems keeping it clean, I just wipe down the interior and top when I clean the car. No biggie and they still look good after 10 years. It's also cool as can be in the summer. Not stock, but who cares.

Scott - I meant "white interior"....seats, panels, everything....

...not just the seats like yours (& actually, I kinda like that look)...where'd you get the white tonneau (or is that a boot?)
 
Yeah that would be a bit much. The tonneau is custom made by a shop. Prestige makes them though, same with the seat covers and tops.
 
The sharp contrast of black carpets and white seats is a great way to go with a red car. Back in '67 my dad bought a new Firebird - red with black and white interior. To my 17-year-old senses it was Nirvana!

We had a '72 Buick Riviera that was nearly the same red, white seats and top (vinyl hard-top) with black carpet and dash. I'd forgotten about that until you mentioned the Firebird Mickey.

Kind of dragging up an old subject. This isn't white but it is a lighter interior on a chrome-bumper MGB in the UK. Kind of too much of a luxury-look for my taste but...
