Ah gee, I got in a hurry and sent the first message and did not mind my P's and Q's and say hello to all first. Sorry about that. I have always wanted a Jaguar, and one week ago I bought one sigh unseen off E-Bay and flew from Tenn to Texas t
o get the car. Guess what I drove it home with not nair one event!!!!!!!!!!! and got 23-24 MPG to boot. The car is awsom, both in appearance and in performance. Once back in Tenn, I went to a friend who has had three Jags, and has one now. We found a minor leak in the power steering, fixed with an additional clip, and changed the trans and trourqe fluid, and filter. Sure gave that cat more life. I put a picture on the Jaguar ride forum, I guess I am still about 10 foot off the ground.

Welcome aboard Harvey! Th eXJ6 is an awesom car. I used to have a 76 XJ6 and loved it! The smoothest riding car I've ever owned. One of thse days I would like to get another one!

Harvey,

Sorry for the delayed "Welcome to the forum." But, welcome to the forum. I have a 1975 XJ6C that I bought on ebay as well.. sounds like you had better luck than I did. On my first drive off the carrier that brought the car here, the carbs burst into flames. Glad to hear that you had no such problems.

Basil is correct about the XJ6. They are great road cars and the ride is hard to match. I have had a 1986 Series III, a 1988 XJ6, and a 1993 XJ6. Post back if you have a chance with an update and some pictures. I know you'll love the car, whatever year it may be.

Welcome Harvey... from Texas. There are a lot of nice XJs avail around here (Dallas/Ft Worth). I wish I had enough room and money, I would oown a few more. Good luck with the new Jag. We have relatives near and in Memphis and also in Nashville. Plus some land and a house in Northeast MS about 48 miles from the Tenn border.
Cheers, Steve

Welcome! My first Brit was a 74 XJ6 as well. I can say it was a runner (sometimes) and it did have a very airy floorboard

Good luck with the cat.
