Hi everyone out there. This is my first time posting here but I would like to thank you in advance for this resource. I can tell it will be of great interest! I've been driving a Morris Minor Saloon (with a 1275 A-series engine and a Datsun 210 transmission) as an occasional driver for around 15 or 20 years. I have been blessed to have friends around who love these cars and who have helped me work on it and keep it running. Unfortunately, fewer and fewer of them are able to assist due to their age and I'm finding myself having a more difficult time finding help. I don't mind getting my hands dirty but I'm still a relative novice.

So...I thought I'd jump in here and see what kind of community we have going on. I'm need to go figure out where to post a repair thread on here now! Not sure which sub-forum is correct since it's a Morris with a Sprite engine! But I'll figure something out!

Oh by the way...I'm 55 years old, married for 30 years and have a couple of adult sons who never really got the car bug.

Hey - welcome to BCF! Good to have another MM owner with us. How'd you first get interested in these wonderful cars?

That is a nice looking Traveller you have there. I always wanted one. Actually, I had one briefly but it was a basket case and I never fixed it up. My dad was very much a car guy. He tended to like more obscure cars. He never had a Morris that I know of but he had other British cars constantly cycling through the garage as well as Citroen, Berkeley, Renault, Dnepr, and all kinds of other things. So I was kind of imprinted. My dad was a great guy but he did not have much patience for teaching me about how to work on cars. We did work on a few things together but I just didn't have the magic touch that he did I suppose. In any case, I came across this Morris for dirt-cheap years ago and fixed it up. I wouldn't call it a restoration but turned it into a solid daily driver. It was tomato red when I bought it. I think I paid $500 for it originally. It had been sitting in a guys back yard for over a decade. I changed the fluids and put a new battery in and was able to fire it up. It still had the original engine at the time. Purists will probably hate me for it but I put a 1275 in it and front disc brakes. And painted it this decidedly non-original color:

Welcom to the BCF! That's a nice looking Morris you have there! As for where to post specific tech questions for a Morris, scroll down till you see the forum called "British Motor Corp". That's where we discuss things like Morris, Austin, Mini, etc., basically anything related to the BMC.
Cheers,
Basil
