Hamster Interview

hahah! Good to see he's in good spirits and will be returning to the show in January. Good to see he can laugh at his own predicament too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Its on in an hour's time....

I don't suppose its shown in the USA, and already broadcast programs don't appear to be available on the BBC on-line.

If he says anything notable I'll try to report....

The Hamster looked well and no different from before.

He confessed to developing a tolerance for celery that he'd previously despised, and an improved ability for remembering numbers.

In good humor and looking forward to returning to Top Gear.

He also confessed that he and the other TG presenters have a pact, that if one of them dies the other will announce and then say "ANYWAY" and go on with the show.....

Didn't James May get hurt in another unrelated incident recently? How's he doing?

The director of the MPH show was quick to defend the stunt. "The trolley had been thoroughly tested," he said. "I've driven it, Tiff Needell has driven it, our researchers have driven it, the people who modified it have driven it and we didn't have a single mishap. In fact, the only person to have fallen out of it is James May. Every reasonable precaution was taken, but there can never be any sort of contingency for the unpredictable, ie just how bloody useless he is at anything involving speed and direction. I'm afraid he was the victim of his own incompetence."

This morning, and following an exploratory X-ray, doctors at a leading London hospital downgraded May's injury from "a suspected fracture" to "nothing more than a sprain", although after they were given some free tickets to MPH they agreed to record it as "a very serious sprain, not the sort of thing most people have".

The interview is up on YouTube now. Search for "Hammond Jonothan Ross" and you should find it. Nice to see he's up and around.
