Just behind the front wheels, on the underside of the chassis, there is a an oval style hole that takes the above rubber plug, and the AH Spares web-site calls for two plugs, one on each side for the whole car (refer to their Sprite, Miscellaneous page, but it doesn't show detail as to where it goes).
However, inside the footwells, on the outside vertical wall near the bottom, is the same sized hole and the plug will also fit there. Neither AH Spares nor the Sprite parts manual calls for anything here that I can find.
Can anyone advise as to the purpose of these holes (they seem to access different sections of the unibody), and if there should be a plug for the ones in the footwell? Thanks, Doug

Doug,
i put 4 of those plugs in the oval holes on my inside sills, 2 in the footwell and 2 next to the rear of the seats. All this time I thought those were the sling holes and plan on lifting my car with those. Moss has it listed under plugs and grommets.

Thanks Rut! And found the other two holes; will be ordering 4 more of the plugs - from the evidence, they weren't originally installed there but I'll put them in anyway. Doug

The footwell hole on the passenger side on the transmission tunnel is the access panel to the bleed valve for the clutch slave cylinder...at least on the Square Sprites. What I've learned is that there usually is a method to what one might think is Donald Healey's madness. Although there are a few items on the Mark IV that are vestiges from earlier Marks.
