Fuel injection cleaning products do they work? I mean how can you pour something into 15 gallons of gasoline and expect it do something to a fuel injector. I am asking because I find the knowledge on this forum the best. I trust you guys more than just about any shop or parts department.

I find when my Buick LaCrosse is sputtering and I add a bottle of injector cleaner, it does in fact run much better. I also get the same results if I run the next octane option at the pump. Seems to work for about a month and then I have to do it all over again.

About the only FI cleaner that is generally regarded as really working well is TECHRON by Chevron. I use it periodlically in all my cars...well, the ones that have fuel injection.

If you have injectors and you use a cheap gas. Please add a bottle at every oil change.

I was told several years ago that fuel injectors removed from motors that sat around for several months without being used would varnish up and miss or not work at all. The old mechanics trick is to soak those old varnished injectors in kerosen for 24 hours and that would clean them out. It worked for me several times, I've use this method for years. Good luck, Bill C, Mesa, Az

Redline's fuel injector cleaner and Techron are the only two worth buying.

If you want your fuel injectors cleaned, there are several companies that will rebuild them for about $15 a pop.
