C'mon, we all know you only watched that show for the cars. Now you can own a replica (they claim the original is long gone)of the Drag-u-la
That grampa drove.
RIP!!!!
Signed by George Barris even!

Where did Grampa drive it to? On-screen to off-screen? I seem to recall an episode of Car Crazy when George Barris was interviewed and I think those cars may still be around, but I may be wrong!

Yup. I only remember him driving it during the opening credits.
I was only saying what the seller is claiming. in the auction description he says the original no longer exists. I do believe that the "Munster coach" is still around.

That's what I thought too!! i know what you mean about the owners and the claims the make(see Corvair 700 in "other cars" that you posted, hehe)!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Drag-U-La was central to at least one TV episode. Herman loses the family car in a race for pinks and Grandpa builds up Drag-U-La to win it back. I think it might have showed up in others episodes too.

It was also prominent in the feature film Munster, Go Home!

Johnny Lightning released die-cast models of both Mustermobiles in their Hollywood cars series a couple years ago.

PC.

They say the original no longer exists. I beg to differ.

the Volo Auto Museum in Volo Illinois claims to have it. I saw it at last year's Chicago Auto Show (and each of several years before that).

Volo also has:

An original '60s TV Batmobile
An "Eleanor" from the remake of "Gone in 60 Seconds"
The Flintstone's casr from the 1994 movie
The claimed last surviving '69 Charger used in the original "Dukes of Hazard"
The "Ghostbusters" '59 Cadillac ambulance
An original K.I.T.T. from "Knight Rider"
The GTO from "XXX" with Vin Diesel
A Delorean from "Back to the Future"
The '74 Monaco "Bluesmobile"
The "Wayne's World" Pacer
An original Fury from "Christine"
An original "Mystery Machine" from the "Scooby Doo" movie
A Cadillac Hearse from "Terminator 3"

And a few others, as well as many other collectible cars. I've seen their display for years and pledged to go to the museum...I'll make it some day.

Where's the MonkeyMobile?

Oh yea. I remember that episode. But I still seem to remember seeing it in the opening of ,musta been, the later shows. Grampa pulls in behind the munster coach as they all come home.. Or maybe I'm just imagining things.
That movie, Munster go home, Isen't that where Herman inherits some european manor (and title) and winds up in a sportscar race?

Speaking of the Monkeymobile, I distinctly remember one episode of that show when they're racing it agenst a Cobra Daytona Coupe!!! and this was filmed in the late 60s so it was a real one! they even fake a crash on a mountian road with it.
I think Carroll Shelby may have even made a cameo appearance in it. I never saw the whole episode. But I bet someone here has.
Lesse.. 1:24th scale movie model kits I had when I was a kid
Ghostbusters ambulance
Back to the future Delorean
Munsters coach and drag-u-la (came in a box set)
Monkeymobile
Hardcastle and Mcormick Coyote
Fall guy Chevy pickup
Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am
Gangbusters Lincoln touring car (with Mobsters, guns, bullet holes, and moonshine bottles)
Knight rider "kit" trans am
A-Team Chevy Van

And probably a few others I cant think of

All the Volo museum needs is an original Herbie VW and it'd be pretty much complete!

I like the one thats still being raced in vintage events.

If you get a chance to go to the Volo museum I highly recommend it. But be forewarned: It may look just like a bunch of big barns full of neatly lined up old cars, but an awful lot of them are for sale, with prices in the window and financing available. Last time I went I almost came home with a '66 Mustang GT coupe in black with the red pony interior.

I noticed that. They have some very nice non-TV stuff. The only '67 Shelby GT-500 convertible ever made )prototype) seems like it would be worth a buck or two.

I'll leave my checkbook at home.
