First Signs of Life! ... See it on You Tube NOW!

My project is finally running! Today I started the engine for the second time after haviing taken care of a few small issues and it sounds strong. Great oil pressure (55 psi @ idle and up to about 90 or so when blipped) and it sounds pretty good. I've only static timed it and have not touched the Weber's except to adjust the idle. I set up a dual exhaust with 2.25" stainless pipes and 2 Magnaflow mufflers. It seems very loud, but I think it will sound a little less severe outside of the garage.

The only issues I have right now is an oil leak at the filter head caused by not connecting the oil pressure line to it and the ATI harmonic dampener seems to wobble a bit at idle but straightens out when the RPM's are increased. Other than that, it feels and sounds very strong.

Go see for yourself!

Excellent news!

But your link doesn't show the proper video (to me, at least).

By the way, I put a 948cc engine in my race car last week that hadn't run in 20+ years.
It was slow at the track (Watkins Glen), but I had a great weekend racing it anyway!

Re: First Signs of Life! ... See it on You Tube NO

My first car was a '59 Bugeye with the same engine. When I rebuilt it, I was constantly teased about the size of the pistons by my friends with Vette's and Mach I 's. I showed them though when I replaced it with a 1275...lol
