With the replacement of my Ferrari Daytona with a Ferrari 456 GT, the Cayenne Turbo and the Lotus Elise I finally broke the 1000 HP barrier.

I did that with my 21st LBC!

I need a couple more Yugos! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Four MGs and all I have is 342 HP. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

But at least I get to drive my cars hard rather than using 1/8 throttle all the time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

That would be the 1000 Hrs Paid to Italian mechanics?

Oh and Jay Leno just broke the 1000HP in one car with his newly rebuilt 67 Olds Toronado.........He had it converted to rear wheel drive and along with twin turbos hit the 1050hp mark...........I don,t want his money but just let me drool over his car and bike collection and drive\ride each one once

I want his money. But I'd settle for the cars, too. Actually I'd settle for one car. Or a ride in one car. A visit to his garage would be nice.

Who would want 1000 HP in one car?

Future Bugatti Veyron buyers seem to think it's a 'grand' idea...

Only 5 people have actually put down money on the Veyron.

Actually, if you've ever driven a car with 1,000 (+or-)HP it's an experience you'd never forget.

Jim,

Did you? I would think that 1000 HP would be a problem in any car but Jay Leno's tank engined monster.

Hmm...never thought of adding up HP.
For me: 350(c5)+ 415(c3- 490 gross)+ 240(c4)+ 100(TR3)+ 90 (TR7)+ 150(Dodge)= 1345 ... I guess you could add in my wife's Oldsmobile Intrigue at 195 (although with the airbox mod, we're probably around 205) and the Expedition at 230hp

Equals 1770. Of course, just counting running cars:

1440.

I recently did a cylinder comparison to my father-in-law's car collection.

With 8 cars I had 50 cylinders.

With 8 cars he has: 3& 12cyl (two old Lincolns and XKE SIII) and 5@8cyl= 76 cyl!!!

I got 350hp in a $7000 chevy blazer, 400hp in a 5.7ltr GTS Commodore and 150hp in a 60 MGA.....so i'm still about $600K AUST ahead .......but 150HP short...bugger!, I'd love an Elise if the budget stretched that far......do they handle as good as they say?,there bloody sexy though!

Maybe if we approached Jay Leno as a group of car nuts he would open up his garage for an afternoon, just for the love of it..
