It's actually running now, but I have no further progress pics as I was working out of state today, but this gives you the idea what was getting done from another view. First pic showed factory black paint around grille. It was in good shape, so we left it alone. Everything else was sanded, sealed, zinc chromated, four coats of color and nearly two quarts of clear over entire engine area. It will make a good home for my newly polished wiper motor. Sorry that I can't post more than one pic at a time.

Looking good!

I hate it when I see engine bays that look better than my car's exterior! <grin>

Thanks for the compliments! It kinda makes it all worthwhile when it starts to look good after so long. Now he has to remove w/shield frame, repaint (or powder coat) install new windshield and all weatherstrips. I'm hoping that he got the door glasses all done yesterday. That's it until fall!
I just want to drive it again.

Looking good Paul. I grew up in Newport. Moved to NY when I was 27 for a job. I miss the ocean. Going to Westerly in July for a week. Hoping to bring the TR6 if I have it back together.

My wife and I were in Newport on Monday for dinner. We missed all of the crazy tourists by going later in the day. It was a perfect day for a TR6 or any LBC to be crusin', but I'll just have to wait another week or so. The vineyards are all open now and giving tours, so that will be the next trip down. Hope to see your TR6 when you're back. Let me know when you're coming. Maybe we can compare notes.

Hey Paul,

The paint really does look incredible! I'm glad I didn't get any runs on the engine block /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif! Talk to you soon.

Erik did the engine work for me and it will all look great together when it's finally done. See attachment for a "before body shop" shot of Erik's fine work.

[/ QUOTE ]I remember once going to a British car show in Oakville Ontario. Now I thought I had a pretty slick looking engine compartment. I parked next to a guy whose engine bay was SO clean /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif, I left my hood closed for the day....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

That's what happened to me last year at the Larz Museum Triumph day. There were so many nice cars that I was forced to keep mine shut. At least my interior and exterior looked decent.
Actually, I was better that I did it sooner, rather than later as the small areas that had surface rust would only have gotten worse as time moved on.

Now it's starting to look like a car again. New SS radiator shield, billet polished wipe motor, SS battery hold down all add to finished touch.
