eBay B - final price?

I am almost certain that I've seen that car on eBay before. The carport photos look *very* familiar.

It's gotta be close to the maximum. I don't care how nice it is, MGBs aren't worth much compared to other classics. Barret Jackson however could fetch a tremendous sum, perhaps in the 30's. THen again those people are just trying to bruise their opponent's egos by paying however much it takes to "win" a car.

It is absolutely beautiful! All the nicer for being Iris Blue.....I like Tartan Red but too many people seem to go for it when re-painting their cars. 19K already and five days still to go.

You know for such a nice car, that is obviously detailed, he didn't really take great photos. You can't really see anything on the bottom shot and there is no photo of the engine bay. He should have paid a few buck and put that thing on a lift. I'm sure it's nice, but who knows. You can also tell how much someone has monkeyed with a car with an engine bay photo. For that price, and for what he says it is, it really needs to be documented with photos.

In four days the car will be sold, the price has met the reserve. As of today, 28th, it is at $19,000.00. I would never pay that much without seeing the car first and having time to do a records check. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It is not 100% original either. I think it is a bit high but someone apparently is willing to pay (or bid!!!)

I still think its a great car, and I hope he gets his price. For all you bodywork guys out there, check out the bottom flange of the dogleg, in the horizontal plane running parallel with the ground. She heads south.

What isn't 100% original? Only thing I saw that looked "off" was the small rubber bumpers in the door jamb. Don't remember those on my pull-handle car.

I highly doubt it came with chrome wires and wide whitewalls. That is a very very minor thing but the price isn't minor.

It looks like a bid was withdrawn because it is down to $15,000.00, below the reserve, and the seller ended the auction early....so, we will never know.

All the really early American-spec B's had chrome wires and wide whites. Several hundred at least.

A bid retraction and ending an auction right before the end is a sure sign of a seller bidding his own auction up. He most likely ended the auction early to avoid paying the eBay fees on purchasing his own car!
