i am looking for a rather obscure emissions part; the vacuum breaker capsule for the EGR vacuum circuit.
it is a small vacuum switch attached to the outboard side of the rear carb with a small bracket and its purpose is to vent vacuum to the EGR valve eliminating recirculation when choke is applied. it has a little button that contacts the choke lever when the choke is off. it was only used in 1974 and maybe only for part of that model year.
my car is pretty much original including the still functional emissions control aquipment. the only missing piece is this part and my car's EGR is curently plumbed without this switch as was done from late 1974 onwards.
i've been looking for one locally for a while with no luck. most of these were discarded long ago, but somoeone must have kept one...
thanks all.
