distributor machine

I know that it is unlikely, but if anyone out there ever comes across, spies up on, hears about, knows of someone who might know of, inherits, steals, receives as stolen or in any way can help me find another distributor machine I would certainly like to know about it. I had an old Snap-On machine for about two hundred years and in complete lapse of reason I let it get away from me. In case you haunt old garages and don't know what I'm talking about a distributor machine is one of those thingies that sits on a work bench or on its own cabinet, usually over in a corner unused and covered in dust that a mechanic can chuck ignition distributors in and test them for all kinds of problems. Most of them were made by Snap-On, SUN and Allen. They are not useful for today's cars that either have an electronic distributor or no distributor at all so if your brotherinlaw has one and works on late model iron tell him I want his. You can always find my email address here. Thanks, Jack

Jack, try looking at area vo-tech schools. Most have one sitting in a corner, unused for years. Perhaps you could arrange to get one of those.

Jack,

The internet is your friend for this kind of stuff.

Check out Ebay item number 4598959022 and 4599012921 (I plugged in 'Distributor tester' into the search).

If these aren't quite right you can ask the sellers if they have any other leads.

One seller had a link to https://community.webshots.com/user/smogtesters which might help you out. (He has a Sun 404 under reconditioned engine analyzers)

I also checked out Craig's list (www.craigslist.org) and found the following:

Here's another hit:

Cheers,
John

Thanks for the information John. I put the Allstates link in my Favorites as it has lots of other things there too and I'll check them from time to time. The bomb retrieval machine was interesting but the "how it works" video is not for the faint of heart. Janel...don't watch it. Jack
