Daimler SP 250 - Pedal Rubber/Pads + other bits

Looking for some odds and ends for the interior of my SP250. Here are the things I need so far: 1) pedal rubbers/pads for each pedal; 2) glove box and 3) Smiths water temperature gauge (tc.4304/01). Parts list (at Jag lovers) shows a part # 427000 for both the clutch and brake pedal rubber. I couldn't find a listing for the gas pedal rubber. Anyone know the part # for the accelerator pedal rubber pad and a source for all pedal rubbers? Brian Purves offers a glove box, but it look like its made out of cardboard. Other glovebox options? Can anyone recommend a specialist for period Smiths gauges? Thanks! Todd

Todd- I don't think the gas ever had a rubber pad, only clutch & brake. (Or maybe I'm remembering wrong , haven't checked mine to make sure). Glove box is a cardboard-like substance on original cars; I think I bought my replacement box from David Manners. I would check Nisonger (www.nisonger.com) for the guage.

DART, thanks. I talked to Nisonger...they can recreate the look of the original Smiths water temperature gauge. Total cost $225-250. One downside is that the colors -- black background and mask and white letters/numbers -- will be new and not have the patina and fade of the other gauges in the cluster. Will dig around ebay and other resources for awhile for the real deal, but, if no luck, will probably go with Nisonger re-creation. Clutch and brake rubbers on the way from David Manners. Looks like you're probably right about the gas pedal...everything I've seen suggests no rubber on it.

If the problem with the old guage is function, can N'er build you one using your original face?

Unfortunately, my SP doesn't have the original water temp gauge. A prior owner replaced it with a later Smiths gauge where the needle is "underhung" -- it points down and sweeps across the lower half of the gauge. All of the original Smiths (and the Lucas ammeter) have "standing" needles that point up. Also the face is a bit different (primarily the temp indications) from the original -- so I can't use the face from my existing gauge.
