whats the difference between the BN2 tranny cover and the 100-6 tranny cover?
is this for the 100-6?

thanks

That looks like a 100-6 or early 3000 cover for a sideshift tranny.

Hi Tim, the BN2 transmission cover is similar to the 100/6 cover. The difference is in the metal "hump" to the rear that fastens to the rear bulkhead. The 100/6 cockpit area is 2 inches longer thus a longer hump.

Tim,
That looks just like the cover I have for my 56 BN-2. Mine measures 29 inches long (at the top). If you look at the Moss catalog I think you will see an error. They reference the short cover for the BN-1 as item #1, but then when you look at the list it has no item number and they assign number 1 to the BN-2. I'm going guess that all of the side shift cars except for the BN-1 had the same cover. The one you have and that I have is for the BN-2(of course this would not be the first time I have been wrong about something like this....) Are there more than 3 styles of cover?

Cover on my 100/6 is also 29". Maybe the difference is in the fixed rear portion of the center floor? Bob

Tim,
The rear of the floor flange (horizontal part) on the BN2 tapers to zero width at the very back. Just like on the pic that I posted a while back.

The tunnel in the pic that you posted has a wider flange all of the way back.

Folks,
I stand corrected. My BN-2 transmission cover tapers to no flange at the rear end, just as Dave pointed out. I failed to notice that difference between mine and the one Tim posted. I warned you I might be wrong. Dang!
