Cold air box for Tri Carb 3000 BT7 ???

Ok, I have a question and have been gone for a while from this forum. I have been burned out on this project for a while and I am trying to revive myself. I have a 1960 AH BT7. I have put a tri carb set up off of a 1962 3000 on it. I have had the car since 1972. I want something different, but functional. I am a fabricator/welder ect. I was wondering if anyone out there has ever seen a cold air box on a 6 cylnder Big Healey before. If so please send links or pictures or technical or tuning information as well. PRO's and CON's are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Randy Forbes has a cold airbox of sorts with his tri-carbed Webers. A search here should turn something up.

Hi Willy,
Well there hasn't been any threads I found since you started THIS thread four years ago, but Randy's photo is in there. Maybe someone has made one since then.

cascadewilly, failing the pictures from randy you could get a very good general idea how the cold air box is rigged by searching "100m" specs. or "austin healey 100m authentication", or find pictures of a "100s" engine compartment, these as im sure you know are 4 cylinder cars.

I actually used to own a 100M. I bought it for $1450 back in the day ( So Cal ) and fixed it and sold it that summer for $2800 to a guy in Denver....now you know my age.......anyways I just wanted to see someones idea of one. I will probably do my own anyways. Thanks

Chris Kellner, here in Dallas, has built a cold air box for his RHD Rally Race Car .

Here is a picture of the box with the carb enclosure top removed, but you can see the ductwork under the Webbers and on the far side of the radiator. There is a black blockoff plate over the hole in the shroud strut. There are also a couple of pictures in the write-up at the RHD Rally Race Car link above.

If you are interested, I'm sure that I can get more detailed pictures and/or I can put you into direct contact with Chris.
