Chronic Healeyitis sufferer in KC

Hello from Olathe, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City. I'm Dan (real name) and I've recently re-purchased my 1956 Austin Healey. The back story is, I purchased a basket case care in Pittsburg, PA in 1986 and took years to restore while moving 3 times and raising kids. In 1999 I was able to drive it from the Crystal Lake, IL to KC. I taught three kids to drive a stick shift in that car and had many great times, and then, the recession. I had to sell the car but fortunately it was to a long-time friend. He took care of the car and 10 years later (last May) I bought it back.

The car is not a numbers matching car since I had to use parts from 3 different cars. This freed me up to take some liberties and build a car I wanted. The engine is built to M-spec plus, it has a five speed conversion, 3.9 gears, power brakes with later Healey front disks and some other fun things. After 10 years away I was glad to get it back and have spent that time going through it and performing some upgrades/maintenance tasks that were neglected. I had to remember that most of the original work is about 25 years old.

So I will enjoy driving the car with paint that looks awesome from 10' with a smile!
