cars you wish you had kept

Not me but....
My husband had a 1968 Camaro.....Black....can't touch them now

My sister's husband had a 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS with big block....ditto

Mine... 1972 GTO

Man, what fools we were to sell em.

Austin Healey 100-6 that I paid $1000 for
back in '75.My Wife & I had our first date in
this car (we've been married for almost 29 years
now).
My first car was a '64 Galaxie that I bought
for $400.Excellent shape with 59,000 miles.

My first car was a 1947 Linclon zepphyer I was too young to drive it. I cleaned up a fellows yard and it was "in his way" there fore he gave it to me. my Dad came and got it started and drove it home. Eventualy I sold it for $100.00 BOY do I wish I had it now!
I`v had so many cars I cant remember them all but a 1955 stude club coupe with a 1964 golden Hawk V8 Four barrel carb engine comes to mind {it actually got stolen and I never saw it again.}
I`v had countless 1952 thru 54 chev pickups {my dad and I used to buy em and get em running good and resell em} I even traded one for a 55 chev belair. {Needed the motor overhauled}I wish I had it now.
But I guess the one I wish I hadn`t sold was a fine little 32 ford 3 window coupe, it had a 54 linclon flathead with dual stombergs, offenhauser heads and mallory dual point ignition. I remember it shimmied pretty bad at about 75 mph tho. I traded a cushman eagle scooter for it, it didnt run but the scooter did. All the 32 needed was the points adjusted and the gas tank and lines cleaned then it ran like a champ. Iv had several 55 & 56 buicks and pontiacs Basically we would buy anything, make them run decent and resell them. I could have kept any one of them I wanted. Once we got the 56 TR-3 I knew she was the one. I still have her.

Mine was a Mopar!

While they’re not as coveted as the later E-body's but I wish I'd never sold my Canary Yellow 67 Plymouth Barracuda coupe. Great Car – black vinyl top & black interior buckets with a 273ci V8 under the hood.

Whenever I think of that ol' Yeller Car, I still get all <snif!> misty. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

None. I kept mine. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

The only car I ever sold that I cared at all about was my '67 GT I had for a short time as a kid. I replaced it a few years ago with one I care about more.

'59 Alfa Giulietta Spyder. Bought it for a song while in college. Got it running and drove it a bit around New Orleans, but didn't have the money to keep it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

'59 MGA. Later in life, but same problem.

'69 Datsun 2000. Had the money, but then along came son Paul.

There are others, but I'm gettin' depressed now - better quit! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I don't wish I'd kept any of my cars through selling them. One that I wish I still had was written off in an accident so it was my fault.

two cars...
'67 Mustang Fastback GT 289 HiPo
'65 E-Type

and one motorcycle...
'47 Harley WR (45 cid) flat track racer...I had that rigged up for the street. I put a hydraulic disc brake on the rear (it originally had NO BRAKES), and head and tail light as required by law. It also had a suicide clutch and tank shifter./bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

WR 45... The one in the picture is a TT. It originally came with brakes, the flat trackers didn't.

Edit: There's another car I sold that I never should have that I almost forgot about.

Saab Sonnet with a 2-cycle 3-cylinder engine (850cc). All fiberglass, front wheel drive, and a hoot to drive. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif The one in the picture is a V4, because it has the big hood bulge. BTW, they only made about 800 with the 2-cycle engine. Mine was number 615...that was the chassis number...just 615. DMV had problems with that. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

1972 Midget it was my first car. Surprised my mom let me get it at 16. Man it was small.

Nomad - This ones on my list of cars to obtain one day.

40 Ford Delux convert, modified some.
54 Ford Sunliner, very modified.
66 Mustang GT

'65 Mk-I Lotus Cortina... but it did pay the mortgage for a year. Now it'd ~PAY OFF~ the freakin' hovel. *sigh*

I must list two.

1) 1969 Triumph GT6 I purchased in 1971. If I still had it, it would be PERFECT right now! The sale of it in '73 helped pay for my education. Good sacrifice, great investment;

2) 1968 Chevy Camaro Z28. Great sound to that engine and a real chick magnet!

I don't even have a photo of either.

RIP, two excessively fun automobiles.

I owned a rare Volvo P1800 with Ford 289 that was part of a Volvo factory "Tiger" project. Wish I still had it since I could now restore it properly..they only built about 10 of them and I had one, but it was pretty ratty and I swapped it for a Mini (which wasn't really much better in the long run). No pix of the Volvo that I can find right now.

I wish I still had ~THIS~ Austin A40

Wish I had ~THESE TWO~ (MGA and TR3) that I owned when I was 19.

I sort of wish I still had ~This Formula Vee~

I would be nice to still own my 948 Bugeye. And the Datsun 510 Pro-Rally car I half-owned.

I don't really miss ~THIS~ "Locost" Toyota-powered Seven replica:

And I don't really miss my old Cricket, Cortina, FIAT 124 sedan, Austin America (1300), Corvair, VW Type 1 (Bug) or VW Kombi. Lots of other forgettable ones too.

I miss having a street Sprite.....but I'm working on that. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I do miss my old Land Cruiser (a 76) but it was a rust heap so I'm not too sad that it was passed on. Otherwise, my cars have all been pretty forgettable. 1990s vintage basic transportation doesn't have much going for it. Don't think anyone would ever restore my first car, a 1990 Ford Escort wagon. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I've owned probably 60+ LBC's...and most of them I am glad I sold(put myself through college buying and selling LBC's). The only car I realy regret selling was an almost perfect original white TR3 because I know I'll never get my hands on a TR3 that nice and original again. I miss my 70 Etype roadster, but it served as a down payment for the house....so it was a good sacrifice.
