Hello,

Does anyone know of a repair shop in the Salt Lake City area? My MGB is leaking a bit of oil and need someone to take a look at.

Thanks,

You might contact Mark Bradakis for a recommendation. He lives in Salt Lake City, is a Triumph guy, and runs team.net, an email list server - with lists for healeys, mg, triumphs, etc.. Don't know if his repair business (Fat Chance Garage) is still open.

One of the mailing lists is for the British Motor Club of Utah - another resource.

Welcome here! There are a few shops around UT that our local Brit car folks have used:

> Links – British Motor Club of Utah <

A friend of mine has used Mercer Auto up in Park City for his MGB (clutch replace) and I've heard of someone using Cherry automotive as well.

If you want to take a closer look yourself, I'm not far from SLC and have a lift we could use to see what's going on.

Thanks for posting that link, JP! Boffo Motors was a home-away-from-home for me in the late '60's. And one of the reasons my enthusiasm for British cars continues to this day. I knew most of the family and crew, have many photos of Jim and his next youngest brother as they ran CS Minis in SCCA competition. I consider Jim a friend, I mentioned that brother in my article posted here about transmission repair. Their dad, Leo, had an AC Ace in the back lot awaiting restoration back then. The steering wheel in this current B was an "MGB-GT Special" wheel I got from Jerry C., the parts guy there. The youngest ("baby" brother at the time!) came here to Tampa for a bit, showed up at a shop where I was working back in the '80's and totally surprised me. That article brought back some fond memories. đź‘Ť

"...For me, this and Boffo were the two best experiences of getting to see how truly remarkable it is that anything could survive this long, 40 years after new cars stopped coming into this country.”
