British Car Show...

Just a quick post. I entered my TR3A in a British car show last Sunday down in Lake Worth, Florida. It was a glorious day with blue skies and a high of 81. 230 cars showed up for the event -- this was the first year for Cobras and Minis. There were only 5 TR3s, and I'm proud to say, mine took home the first place trophy! This was not concours judging, rather all of the contestants voted on the different classes (maybe 26 in all). Nice show, great car and what an excellent trophy.

So many shows seem to hand out a thing that looks like a bowling trophy sans the little guy on top. That one actually deserves a place of honor in the garage or wherever.

Really good looking car and engine. Like those webbers. On your valve cover, that looks like a breather atttached to the vent tube on the side and a oil filler in the back like a TR4. If you don't mind, where did you get the breather on the side of the valve cover? Thanks...

Wow, what a great looking show, and nice picture to! I love that aqua colored Sunbeam, very sharp. I think thats the first picture I've ever seen of a Morgan Aero 8 out and about in the real world. Every shot I see of that car is in a magazine or something.

Hey Capt Roy,

I bought the breather at Murry's -- a local speed shop in FLA. It's simply a K&N filter. I did have to put a restrictor on the vent tube because it was blowing out too much oil. I installed the cylinder head oil feed line when I rebuilt the engine, and I wonder if it's pumping too much oil up to the head. I did put a restrictor in the line which cut the oil supply by 50%, but maybe I should have made it smaller still.

Some great cars! Seeing that Healey 100S reminded me of the opportunity I had to buy one twenty years ago -- for $5,000. It needed new fenders (which were different than the standard 100 fenders) and a lot of other work, so I took a pass. Ah, the mistakes we live with. *sigh*
