Brake and Fuel Pipes

On my '66 Sprite, the brake line goes thru the tunnel, but the fuel line goes on the bottom, alongside the right rail.

Here's a couple more pics:

Here's one final picture of how the original lines were routed before I removed them. I've heard some people say their brake lines run under the car. Perhaps some models did, but I believe the idea was to keep the fuel line external, in case of damage it would leak on the road. But the brake line ran thru the tunnel to protect if from damage that might cause loss of brakes.

On the 65 the brake line runs inside the tunnel to the rear and the fuel line attaches to the rail that runs underneath the car There are clips in the rail that runs along the side of the tunnel. the fuel line clips to that.

Brake lines did not run inside the tunnel until 1968 when they went to the dual master cylinder.
My 67 has the lines under the floor on the frame stiffener along with the gas pipe.

I have to disagree as I removed the original brake lines from my 65 and one line ran front to rear through the tunnel,my car is a HAN8. It was attached to the inside wall of the tunnel with clips one on the right side before the shifter and the other clip is across from the E Brake handle.
