BN4 [early] Toneau bar

The first series BN4's toneau bar "plugged" into a pair of crude brackets that were attached to the top of the inner rear fender wells. I have the brackets and picked up a two piece bar in a armicord pouch many years ago. I just figured out the bar is for a later car as it is several inches two long (wide) and a couple of inches to tall!!
Does anyone know more about the bar for the earlies cars? I believe I read sometime ago they were one piece. I would be greatfull for tracing of an original bar with approx inner and outer pipe sizes.

If the bar was or is one piece was it in a bag oe pouch?
Thanks,
Mark Shaw

The tonneau bar for the BN4 is one piece. I don't believe it comes with a stowage bag.
If you are interested, I am looking for the tonneau bar for the later Healey, BJ7-8, w or w/o the bag. Let me know how much you want for it.
Happy Healeying.

The toneau bar for the early BN-4 is available from Cape International. www.cape-international.com It does fit onto two little brackets that fit onto the inner fender well. It is also hard to keep anywhere when not using it, because it does not come apart.

When the top is up, the one piece bar can stow behind the rear squab where the top frame stows, and vice versa. There is no stowage bag for the bar.

At KAS we make for the early BN4 either a one piece tonneau bar or a two pice push together type like the BJ7 has, for easier stowage. I would post a photo but it appears to be too large to be accepted.
