Just to say a quick thank you to RichC and Roger, after more or less finishing my Bj8.
I can honestly say that the biggest and hardest job has not been an engine rebuild and fit into newly painted panels on engine bay, rear axle refit, windscreen rebuild or trimming the carpet, but instead I have spent over a year trying to get the hood (top to you over the pond).
I initially thought it was a couple of day job, but then you find out the gap is too big above the windows, too big to seal against the rubber seal, and the rear of the window hits the rear cant rail.
Well with their help I have spent a year, shimming the hood frame, elongating the fixing holes, adjusting the windscreen / quarter lights / windows etc till I got it some where near and then modified the cant rails to suit.
I then ended up with a nice 5mm gap around the window, a nice tight seal, and after leaving the final hood trim to a proffessional (one of the few jobs I didnt do) I picked it up Thursday in the rain, and travelled 70 miles home at 75mph with not a drop of water!
A few pics of the issues and end (only thing need fitting are the end caps / and bottom foam before someone notices (Rich),
thanks again to both
