What is the best method for removing the rear brake cylinder? I have hose disconnected, hand brake lever removed, but cannot figure out the rest.

Thanks for the assist!

The two (2) retaining plates slide together from opposite sides, into a groove on the back of the wheel cylinder. You have to "lift" the plate on the top to clear the tangs of the one underneath; at the same time, pushing the top plate past the bottom plate.

If need be, I can set up a mock installation with some loose parts I have on hand, and get you a couple pictures (busy day today though...).

Thanks for the replies!

Yes, I would appreciate an installation/disassembly break down as I tried prying up the tips, banging on it with a hammer/screwdriver etc with no success.

In answer to my own question. I finally removed the cylinder by tapping at the right hand side top plate with a punch and hammer. I did not find it necessary to lift the tabs. I don't remember whether it was because they were installed incorrectly or what but I'll check and update.
