HI Reid, I think CascadeWilly was responding to the intial speculation introduced by HealeyJag as to what might be wrong with that car when he formlated his response to the Poet.---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's fine, but I'm the one who inspected the car, and this post started out asking me for my impressions based on that. So for anyone who inferred that I had reservations about it due in part or in whole to its unusual color scheme (which I actually kind of like), I want to clarify that my reservations have
nothing to do with the authenticity or quality of the restoration. Therefore a discussion of the color scheme of the car is off-topic and makes me think that anyone going there does not understand what I said, so I clarified.
It may be a fine running and driving car. You may love the colors. Heck, it might even win trophies at car shows. None of that changes what I observed about its apparent provenance versus how it was represented. If that's still not clear and you're still curious, email me privately:

On the subject of driving up the value of our cars - also not the subject of this thread - I wrote an editorial about that very subject exactly one year ago following the previous Barrett-Jackson auction. I'll attach it if you'd like to read it. That might also make for an interesting discussion, but it has nothing to do with my evaluation of the car in question.
I'm just trying to stay on topic and make sure I'm understood. It makes it really hard when people don't carefully read what you write, and/or imply that they have jumped to inaccurate conclusions. On the other hand, it doesn't really matter very much, does it? You'll have to forgive me, as an editor, straying off-topic is a non-no, but out here in the real world I realize that... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
