Battery cable routing in boot

I am having problems fitting the grommet and cover plate in the battery panel in the boot, the one where the batt cable goes through.
On my battery panel (the piece that covers the fuel pipe filler) the hole that takes the grommet is bevelled therefore the grommet cannot simply push through and lap over the flat surface on the other side (as a normal grommet should)as the bevel on the other side prevents it.
The panel was a part i bought from AH Spares so i assume it is correct, so what am i doing wrong, i have the grommet and the trianglier plate to hold it in place but it's stumped me.
I'm also wondering the routing of the main wiring harness when it leaves the flasher relay.
Can anyone help.

Rob,

The special rubber piece is sandwiched between the sheet metal panel and the triangular plate with three screws holding it all together (sheet metal screws as I recall) .. i.e. the bevel of the sheet metal and bevel of the triangular plate are designed to hold the rubber piece once the screws are tightened up. FYI .. there are two places that the battery cable uses this 'grommet sandwich'. Where you describe and the next bulkhead forward (going into the rear end tunnel area)

The main harness past the flasher relay continues forward (one P clip) and ducks under the radiator bulkhead just above the steering box. The right headlight/turn signal/horn portion continues above the X brace (radiator opening) with 3 P clips. Take a look at Pic 1 on post 3297 (it only shows 2 P clips but you get the idea)
wire routing

The right horn harness plugs into the main harness and then goes back through a rather small gap between the shroud and bulkhead (same thing happen on left side .. this gap is just above the air inlet areas).

Cheers,
John
