No really. I need to find a plastic gear. It is for a checmical etching machine I have at work. We purchased it from the motherland and the guy over there is being a real you know what. I have been waiting for over a month for this gear and he is giving my purchasing agent the runaround.

It is blue, 1.6" in diamter and has 8 teeth. I believe it is made out of PVC as many of the components are made from PVC in this machine. If anyone has a good resource for Plastic gear with very explicit pictures, it would be appreciated. This is an odd looking gear but I doubt it is propietary. The guy makes the machines but these are injection molded gears and he did not come across as if he had the ability to do this himself. The shaft that fits inside the gear is .465" and has a flat spot.

I also know nothing about gears and I can only describe them at this point. I am at work and it is tough to post a picture of it.

Any leads please let me know.

I have the Mcmaster Carr cat on my desk & nothing I can see. Rush Gears I gotta study. Problem is I am not sure what kinda of gear this is.

Vince,

That's an odd gear with only 8 teeth at that size. A picture would really help. What's the matter with the existing one? Maybe there is a way to repair it at least until you can get the replacement.

If all else fails you can have someone make you a custom gear or cut one from a blank .. maybe someone like this?
