I'm making front suspension progress but hit a
snag, maybe.
I've got two bolts that require an 18" extension
and my full weight to rotate them. They are thru
bolts in the brake caliper mounting plate. They
are a b..... to rotate. I have then dripping in
rust buster.
After 20 or 30 rotations they have not backed out a
fraction of a nano-inch. I believe they are simply more
DPO Pedro metric bolts that his junkyard mechanic
pounded thru and put a plastic locnut on. Then they
rusted tight. (my theory anyway)
I can get a little seperation with my tie rod gizzmo.
I poured in more rust buster.
Does anyone know for sure? Are the TR components clean
bored and I can pound Pedro's bolts thru and out?
Without exception, every thru bolt I have encountered
to date has been metric. So I know they are incorrect.
Can I pound this critter out? Or something else must be
done to it?
thanks
