Wedge A new TR8 in town...

So there is now another TR8 in Fort Collins. A recent transplant from Washington. That makes two in Fort Collins, two in Loveland and one in Windsor that I know about. That's 5 in a 20 mile area in Northern Colorado and those are just the ones I have seen personally. I have heard of a few others but have yet to see them. This new one to Fort Collins is pretty heavily modified. The suspension has had a lot(!) of work and it has a close ratio gear set in the transmission.

Yes it's LOW... and yes that is my TR8 coupe behind it.
The rear tires are 225mm and the rear fenders have been 'massaged' so they don't rub. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

We booted him out of Wa. for being alittle over the top for us. Couldn't handle the spoiler!

I don't usually go for the TR7-8 for one reason, I never liked the way the wheels sit in the fender wells.

I absolutely love this one!

The spoiler is a little over the top though, but I like the rest.

I am not sure if I am liking how far it is lowered but I have thought about lowering mine another inch or two. It is a sweet looking ride, great looks. I beleive in my immediate area there are only two 8s and one TR7 with a Ford 289 in it (very fast). I have to wonder how Colorado is so lucky to attact all these 8s.

There are more TR8's in Colorado than I have listed. Those were just in a twenty mile radius from Fort Collins. There are more in Denver, Colorado Springs etc... We'll see how many show up to the "Colorado Conclave" in a few weeks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Also, at my last count, there were over 30 TR6's just in Fort Collins. If I start to include other northern Colorado activities then we can get close to 50 before we even get into Denver area. I haven't bothered counting MGB's but there are quite a few. Northern Colorado is actually VERY LBC active.

That Gold TR8 is totally slammed and rides very stiff. There is hardly any suspension travel left. It does ride well as long as the road is smooth and the close ratio transmission is pretty cool. As my TR8 is also my daily driver, I have no plans to take it to those extremes. I'm not too keen on the rear spoiler (to each there own though) and the front splitter is 'interesting' but still not my cuppa. The Gold Color is actually a fairly common TR8 color though I have to say that my TR8's Carmine Red is growing on me. I also understand that it is a somewhat 'rare' TR8 color. Mostly on Coupes, not convertibles.

I like the gold color even though it is probably the most common with silver next to it. I went with a copper color for mine, It was never going to win any awards anyways but as soon as it was painted, the next year is when GM came out with the copper color... so much for a different color. The guy who had my 8 before me put a 3.90 in the rear of it so he could race it, I swap it out for a 3.45 which I am very pleased with The Carmine red is a great color in my opinion

Nice looking car. I especially like the wheels. I've got 215x14's on mine and they barely clear the fenderwells at the unaltered ride height so if he's running 225's at a lowered height he's got to have a very stiff suspension. Spoiler is cheesy, but I do like the lowdown look. Hmmmm, winter project?

Yeah, his suspension is STIFF, practically go kart stiff. To stiff for my injured back especially. Have I said it was stiff? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It let me know that I won't go that far with my own TR8. Especially since mine is a daily driver.

I have 205x14 yokos on mine with the 1 inch lowered springs from Ted. I really wish I had gone with the 15 inch rims like Woody because of all the other tire options there are, but I have no idea how they would have fit in the wheel well. I would like to get the fibreglass fenders Lanocha is offering, get 15 inch rims, some 255x15 tires or larger. and then of course I would have to do a 3.9 engine built up to move the tires
