'63 Midget Hard Vacuum Line

My distributor requires a screw-in type vacuum line (#35 in diagram below)...the old distributor had been modified - a flexible plastic line is hard screwed into the vacuum unit.

I want to go back to what was original but they're not available...does anybody have:

1) A photo of the line routing from distributor to carbs.

2) An extra OE hard line.

Tony, #s 44 and 45 are available. 1/8th inch copper line is available from lots of places. The two clips are not special, I'm sure you have a bucket of them around.

Hint: make your own.

You are probably already aware, but I'll mention it anyway.. there IS an adapter that screws onto those threads and makes it easy to hook up a rubber line. I know, I know, NOT original, but Oh So Handy when you're doing tune ups to be able to just pop the line off. ...

A rubber line connector is used at the carb end, easy to slip off and plug for adjusting.

I've already got #'s 44 & 45, Jack...also have the clip.....guess I just need to figure out how long of a piece of copper line I need to buy & then use that diagram to bend it (one of the reasons I was hoping for a photo of its routing).

All the BMC cars I've seen with hard vacuum line use 1/8 copper tubing. The oil pressure gauge installation kits at most auto parts stores include about 5 feet of that tubing. The typical asking price is a little over $10.

Roger that Doug, exactly what I used. Easy to bend and you will understand the kinks as you work it. It's not rocket science.

I had some of that on my '63 when I got her. Ditched it all for hard plastic bent by heat but what I have left you're welcome to Tony, if it does you any good. May not as I remember there being some hose clamped onto copper but I'll hunt it down and shoot you a pic and you can decide if it's worth sending to you or not. (for free of course).

Don't know why the PO reworked it but I didn't like the look of it so went with hard vacuum line instead. Th

Wow, that picture is big. Sorry
Here's the ends with the hoses pulled off. Looks like carb side one was cut at some point? Not sure how/where that would connect (I'm running a Weber.....for now)

Yep, its been whacked up a bit...I'm trying to find one that hasn't so I can get the bends correct....I understand the routing now but not real sure about where to bend....guess I'll just get some tucing & start at one end.

Well if you need the ferrell and nut or the clip just let me know. I can cut those off and send 'em out easy enough.
While I have your attention;
What color is correct for the pedals? I took the box and MC out for a rebuild and decided to clean up and shoot some paint on things. Not intending to be anal but thought I'd go for "correct" if I could. PO put on VW pedal pads. I'm putting them back on upside down so it looks like an M and telling myself it stands for MOWOG.
