anyone have a pic of how the front splash guards go and where the bracket attaches to inside the wheelwell

Not shown, but the strap attaches to the bottom hole of the splash guard and to the outermost-bottom fastener for the grille insert.

My car is incorrect, in that it's fitter with two (2) left-hand splash shields; the one fitted on the RH side has had the flange re-bent to suit the application.

My BJ7 has the splash guards, but the metal straps that go from the guard to the grill are missing. This lets them rub the front tire while manuevering at low speed.

Anybody know if the metal straps are available, or if not, can someone photograph a set so I can duplicate? If I remember correctly from my BT7 years ago, the straps are maybe 1/2 inch wide, 6 inches long or so, and have a twist in them?

Correct; the shock was removed while I was applying the "chip-guard" (Fusor 805 wheelhouse coating) and painting afterward.

After I made a set of straps, I found my originals (naturally...). I'll see if they're not already packed up, and if I can get some pictures and measurements of them...

You can get the straps from Moss. Make sure you still have the special bolts that hold the straps in place with the grill. If they are not there, you need them. If they are there, I recommend removing the nut from the special bolt that holds the strap. If the nut won't come off and/or the bolt is in bad shape, you may need to order a couple of those also.

And hats off to you for removing them in one piece. I can't remember if mine came off in one piece because they went missing, along with the straps and the shields. The only reason I figured out all those pieces were missing 10 years after I removed them was because of the references to them in the parts book. I remember staring at the drawing plate and asking myself, "what are all those parts???" followed by an order to Moss Motors and some quality time with primer, paint and heat lamps.
