Thanks for the link. Be interesting to see where the bidding ends up.

A couple of things intrigue me about this car. Firstly, take a look at the engine block. The block was supposed to have been painted black, but that is definitely red that is in streaks with the black. My engine block is the same, and I have a low-mileage 1980 model. I had always put that down to someone being over-zealous with some engine cleaner. Any ideas as to the possible cause?

Secondly, if the owner had gone down to the dealership on the day that they announced the factory closing, why did he or she buy a '79, and not a last-of the line 1980? And didn't they announce the factory closing back on September 10th of 1979, not July 10th?

Double Wow...from me...Steve...nothing gets by you...good questions...still the car looks perfect...I wonder what the "reserve" is...has to be high...if all the facts are factual...this would be a very rare car indeed..

If it is what they say it is...&, if you're buying it for what they say it is...you need a climate controlled place for your sculpture...you didn't buy a car!

I can tell you for my money I would rather have one that has had a first notch ground up restoration. You know all the hoses need replacing, tires ,and all the hydrolics will need replacing as well. You start driving that car and you are in for a big disappointment. As for it increasing drasticly in value. I think there are better things to gamble on. The pic of the engine doesn't reflect a car that was stored properly at all. I saw a lot of problems.

Tom,
I totally agree with you. Likely ALL of the rubber is bad, & there ARE signs of rust.
